CeMiSt is delighted to announce that the Otto Mønsted Foundation has provided funding for a guest professor, group leader Dr. Manuel Liebeke from the Max Plank Institute for Marine Microbiology.

Manuel will join the Center for two months in 2021. This will allow us to exchange ideas and expertise on how to discover and understand the role of microbial metabolites in marine systems. His visit will help us to fully capitalize on the newly upgraded metabolomics platform where the Center, thanks to a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, will purchase one of the fore-front mass spectrometry imaging instruments. Manuel Liebeke is a world leading expert in this technique and maps microbial metabolites in situ in marine organisms. The guest professorship will allow for talks and seminars and will also allow interactions with the broader Danish scientific community.
