DTU styrker forskning i mikroorganismers antibiotiske stoffer

Et nyt grundforskningscenter, Center of Excellence for Microbial Secondary Metabolites, CeMiSt, som skal afdække, hvorfor og hvordan mikroorganismer producerer penicillin og andre antibiotiske stoffer, såkaldte sekundære metabolitter. Centeret skaber en platform for en ny generation af forskere og i horisonten åbner forskningen både for opdagelse af fundamentale biologiske sammenhænge og for opdagelse af nye stoffer med medicinsk potentiale.

Center For Microbial Secondary Metabolites (CeMiSt)

CeMiSt is a new Center of Excellence conceived to unravel the roles and impact of microbial secondary metabolites in natural microbial systems through a true multidisciplinary endeavor using microbiology, genetics, ecology, and chemistry. The Center is funded by the Danish National Research Foundation.
